I just wanted to wish my sweeties a very Happy Thanksgiving. Let's start an Attitude of Gratitude chain right here on our blog. After all, it's a C-Rod tradition.
Click on "comments" below and state three things for which you are thankful (be different)! I already know you are grateful for your parents and family, your friends, and your AMAZING teachers (try not to laugh), but I want some original things. I will go first so you can see what I mean! Be sure to read the various comments that are posted, and you will see that we have so MUCH to be thankful for, even the small things we take for granted!
I hope your Thanksgiving and weekend are filled with all the love and happiness your heart can handle...and all the food your tummies can take!
LOVE YOU ALL! Thanks for being the great kids you are! I am blessed!

Wow! I have a never-ending list of blessings for which I am grateful, but here are a few to get us started!
Of course, my family, my home, my God are at the top of my list, but it's the items farther down the list that I forget about...which is the whole point of this activity!
First, I love the rain, its smell, its purpose, its promise. Rain has a way of calming me...unless I am stuck outside without an umbrella. (In which case, I'm thankful for umbrellas, too!) Even then, it cleanses the soul (like "an ablution" if you're into the SAT words) and gives life to the beautiful plants, trees, and green grass. And the best part - it's perfect for naptime!
Let me not forget PEDICURES! I am crazy for them! I love sauntering out of the nail salon with silky smooth feet and painted toes! The best part is - it's the only time I am sitting still. I am forced to just SIT...and not move! What a blessing!
Knobs and handles on doors are also pretty amazing. Think about it - If we had to open things without a knob, that would be tough! Imagine trying to open a kitchen cabinet or a closet without one. I know, TOUGH STUFF! Now imagine a car door without a handle! Yikes! How would drivers and passengers stay in the car when there are hard turns to make??? Rolling out of a car going 40 miles per hour CANNOT feel too good! LOL!
See what I mean? Even when life is sucking pretty badly, there are always a million small blessings we forget about! I hope this activity helps you remember a few of them...and makes you smile! :o)
Well, that's all! Love you!
PS. Don't forget to read all comments!
Three things I'm thankful for?
Well of course I’m thankful for my family and friends, the house I live in and all the nice things my parents can get me, but things we as people never think to be thankful for well, let’s say I got a few of those.
One, I’m thankful for artist like Eminem who make my day when I hear a new song he has written. That same songs that makes you smile and yell “DAMN! He just BURNED him!”The ones that make your day a lot better because maybe you just love the lyrics or can relate what’s going on in your life to what’s happening in the song. The songs that a so strong that when you hire it just a little, you won’t have to hear your mom yelling at you. Artists like Eminem, are who I’m grateful for.
Two, I’m very grateful for the invention of cell phones. Just think, imagine a world without your baby? When you touch your pocket, it just wouldn’t be there. And in an emergency? You’d have to run, and if you every needed the answers to a homework assignment, you couldn’t get them through txt. Wow, that would really suck!
Three, one thing I’m most grateful for? The invention of the tooth brush, and the tooth paste. O-M-G could u image a world where people didn’t brush their teeth and their breath smelled like crap! Can u imagine how dark the yellow shade inside your mouth would be, the bad after taste or eating something and not brushing your teeth? The discussing smells that must build up over time? Ohhh yeahhh, thank god for the tooth brush.
Now that you put it that way, we all should be thankful for little stuff that you won’t even think about giving thanks too. I am thankful for my family, friends, and the food on my table, the roof above my head and etc. But there are 3 things that I am very thankful for and cannot live without.
First, HOT WATER! Who can't live with hot water? I know very well that when there's no hot water I get supper mad. I can’t take a shower with cold water so thank you HOT WATER for being there for me. :)
Second, AIR CONDITIONING! We all know that without AC we all turn into little girls and complain because it is so hot. So thank you AC I really don’t know what I would do without you. LOL :D
Third, ELECTRICITY! Electricity is so essential to all of us. We need it for everything computers, AC, light, oven, etc. Without electricity we wouldn’t be able to see, be warm, and have food. So thank you electricity without you I can’t be on FACEBOOK or texting with my friends or ironing my hair. :)

Three things am thankful for are
Hair salon/Iron is definitely one of them, because without it I think I would not survive.Every time I wake up and have curly and frizzy hair I want to scream and cry. So thanks to the hair salon and my iron, am a complete person.
Thank the Lord for creating Sugar, because without sugar my life would be unbearable. I put sugar in anything that is food and its edible. When I eat bagels, I put sugar with cream cheese and it taste delicious. So praise the Lord for sugar.
Toothbrush is actually the last one in the list but is very important in my life. If every time I wake up, I have that stinky breath I think I would die. I would die of embarrassment, specially when your talking to a cute guy and he is like slowly walking away or trying to cover his nose because of your breath.
I thank god for everything, because we need to be thankful for what we have and always know that other out there and in a tighter situation then you. God bless you all and have a great thanksgiving.
Three things that I am grateful for
One: Hearing the sound of music. Without music there won't anyone dancing. Without music I don't know what I would do because dancing to the beat of the music is a way that I can express my feelings/emtions. If it wasn't for music, I don't know how we will know these songs that new artist are singing. When I hear music, my feet are ready to hit the dance floor.
Two: Computer/Television. If it wasn't for internet or tv, what we do. I'm am thankful for having both internet and tv because it a way to communicate with others to find what has been happening around the world. It lets us know the latest news, the latest entertainment, and the latest places to visit.
Three: I am very thankful for toothbrush and toothpaste. If it wasn't for these bad boys, I don't know what I would be doing. Everytime I wake up in the morning, I have to brush my teeth. It is a definite must. There are no if ands or buts about it. When you are talking to someone, you don't want them to walk away from the stinky breath. I can't even think of that disgusting smell. Thank God for the invention of a toothbrush and a toothpaste.
I am very thankful for having a family, a roof over my head, a well cooked meal, and amazing friends. We need to be thankful for what we have and not be greedy. Have a happy thanksgiving !!!
Other than my family that I adore with all of my heart, and the other broad important things in my life I am also very thankful for airplanes. It may sound funny but everytime I'm in the airport I feel at home. If it weren't for airplanes I probably wouldn't be in this amazing country, and wouldn't be able to see the family I left behind.
I'm extremely grateful for my pillow. As weird as it may sound, I hug and kiss my pillow all the time! I've had the same one since I was five, and my mom has held it inches away from the trashcan but I've rescued it countless times. My pillow reminds me of my childhood and my family, that's why I adore it so much.
Oh, and I'm also thankful for finger nails. What purpose do they have anyway? I think the only thing they do is turn black and hold dirt, but I'm thankful for them since they come in handy when something itches. If it wasn't for fingernails I'd go insane trying to scratch my back, or a leg.
These are just a few, but I'm thankful for millions more. God Bless and HAPPY THANKSGIVING !
I thank God for all the obvious reasons, but reaching a little deeper I find that thanks can reach farther than just family and friends (and Gilbert hahah).
Firstly, the trash can is the greatest invention ever! It's one of the most essential things on this planet. If there were no trash cans, we'd all have to hold our trash or litter, and the latter is quite unhealthy for our surroundings. Nobody wants to lug their trash around. Thank God for trash cans!
Another genius mechanism on our planet is the zipper. Oh boy, they fix everything the button can't! And they don't fall off. They're perfect for so many uses, and now they're even a fashion statement! Without the zipper, we'd still be stuck in the button era, primitively sewing on replacements. (Not to mention finding the same button is a task in itself!) Zippers make life easier :).
One last thin I'll mention is that I'm thankful for is the F11 key on the keyboard. (print screen key is nice too but F11 is more fun). There are a lot of people that don't know what F11 does (go ahead and try it since I'm not going to tell you) but it's funny to see how people react to when a browser is on F11 and don't know how to change it. Hahah :D

wow! I misspelled my name! -____-
I am thankful for my bed because if not I would have to sleep on the floor and I don’t have carpet. The floor is hard and dusty. I’m glad I have a comfortable bed that I could lay down on whenever I want. Also the pillows that come with the bed that makes your head more comfortable. If there was no beds and pillows and u had to sleep on the floor you would wake up with a bruise on your head every day.
I am also thankful for book bags because if not where would we carry are annoying books, in are hand. First everyone would be losing them and probably wouldn’t bring it because there too much stuff to hold. Book bags are a life saver. They hold all my books for class.
Last I am thankful for tape because if it wasn’t for tape we couldn’t put stuff together. Like when something breaks and u needs to tape it but there no tape, what you going to do. Tape could be a life saver. Without tape I would have had to buy the same thing like 10 times.
Hmm three things im thankful for...
Well seeing that I'm the first dude as of now to post here, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I'm thankful for women. :) They're pretty special and cool...or so I hear :P
Second, I'm thankful for sound and the ability to hear it. Life would be so dull without it; you wouldn't be able to hear the birds chirping in the trees, a flowing stream in the middle of a forest, or the BRUTAL BLARE OF A HEAVY METAL BAND!!
Third, I'm thankful for funny stuff and laughing. I'd hate my life if not for the vast amounts of comic relief in it.
I think that covers three less obvious things that I'm thanful for!
-Gilbert Soles
You all came up with some FABULOUS items! I love the one about the laughter! So true!
Ali, I am afraid of the F11 key. Could that have been the reason for the computer glitch?!?! Oh, my!
It was funny you thought of zippers - I did, too. However, I was afraid to put it...you know how people can twist a teacher's words. LOL!
Great idea with the backpack and pillow, as well as Eminem (though his stuff is played out), music for dancing, and sugar...hence the reason you all idolize the toothbrush and toothpaste! LOL! And a huge AMEN for hot water and air conditioning. Oh, how we take these little luxuries for granted!
LOVE YOU ALL!
As mentioned above we should all be thankful for our family and shelter. What about the little things ? We lots of times don't realize that the things that are so valuable and reliable in our lives are right in front of us. So three unoriginal things that I am thankful for are :
MOUSE ! Imagine life without this foamy white mass. Hair would be unmanageable, undetangable and unresistant. You wake up one morning and your strands of hair are touching the roof, with the press of one button and your hand mechanisms, you can easily be transformed into a diva.
Accessories ! I am thankful for necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets. These wonderful small objects give you a touch of bling, elegance and class. Without them life would be blah, boring and dull. You can't wear a dress without accessories and you can't accessorize if your not dressed. These two go hand in hand .
Last but most importantly I am thankful for EARPHONES ! We have all had that one time when we want to listen to an audio clip, but worry because it might be embarrassing to play out loud. So I have to give props to the inventors of this mind blowing object .
I know that everyone may mention this because it is true but I want to thank MRS.RODRIGUEZ for her hard work and dedication to all her students and faculty. Even though we hear her talk about all her classes and her waking up at 4 in the morning , we don't know how hard it is for her because we don't have her schedule, not even half of it . So with our time and not so hard schedules , I believe that we can achieve all the goals that we have planned for ourselves . Thanks CROD for being you. Love you :)
I’m thankful for having a great family, my friends and having a home, I’ m also thankful for the great teacher that I have this year. Thank you CROD for putting all your effort in us and teaching us so many things. But most of all I’m thankful for having the chance of waking up every morning to a new day.
Now three things that I’m very thankful for are:
First of all water!!! Drinkable water. What will we ever do without water; we would end up dehydrating and dying. We can spend days without food, but water we wouldn’t survive long. So I’m very thankful for having water, for being able to drink clean water each day.
Second I’m thankful for blankets. What would I ever do without them? When I go to sleep I need to have one that keeps me warm and comfy. For those days that are really cold they come really handy to cover yourself and drink a hot chocolate!!
Third I’m thankful for shampoo and soap. I don’t know what I would do without this; it wouldn’t be a complete bath. I’m thankful for shampoo and soap because it keeps me all clean after taking a shower. My hair isn’t oily and it’s clean and silky after using the right shampoo. Its leave it really pretty. And soap thanks soap that takes away all the dirt and bacteria we have.
Three things that I am thankful for is first people being able to have bones. If we didnt have bones we will be like Jelly we will slide through the floor like snails but without the hard shell. Also, I am grateful for clothes. I cant imagine everyone walking around naked. The third thing that I am grateful for is an Ipod. Without an Ipod you would have to carry aorund a radio like in the old days to listen to music.
I'm thankful for:
-Musicals, for sure! Whomever thought of the idea of putting theatre, singing and dancing all in one is a pure genius. I'd especially like to thank the glorious minds of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik for creating two of my absolute favorite musicals: The Phantom of the Opera and Spring Awakening. Glee would also fall under this umbrella
-Airplanes! I have such a big family, and they're all scattered around the western hemisphere, so I'm glad that they're able to visit me and I them every so often. Also, I would love to travel one day. (When my parents decide to get me my passport -_-) Italy is at the top of the list. I'd love to go backpacking through the whole country.
-Movies. Duh. I'm not a HUGE movie buff, because there are several movies on my "Must Watch" list that I've yet to see, but there are many that I already have seen that are a part of who I am. The fact that after I see a movie about two or three times I've already got half of the lines memorized definitely adds to that.
-Shoes. Not only can they be works of art, but they also protect one of the most important body parts: your feet! Think about it, you spend much of your day walking or running around different parts of the city in which you encounter some dangerous and disgusting things that, had you not been wearing shoes, would've injured you or grossed you out.
Well aside from the obvious, (being grateful for the amazing friends that make me smile every day and for the loving and caring family) I am also thankful for many little things that most of us would not even think of giving thanks for.
1)Though some may find giving thanks for these objects a tad inappropriate, I'm beyond grateful for pads/tampons because I would hate to even picture what life for us women would be like if we didn't have pads or tampons! OMG we might have had to walk around with like rags or cloths! Ewww that's just wrong.
2) I’m extremely grateful for heating bags! Yes those little bags that old ladies connect to the wall and put on their backs for their pains! I'm grateful for them because as I am typing this I have one on my back, and let me tell you, it really does work wonders! :)
3) Lastly I am thankful for emotions! I am so glad that I can FEEL...like I'm grateful that I can feel happiness, pain, sadness, love, bliss, etc. because without emotions and feelings, what would be of us? We would simply be there. Numb. I'm glad I can enjoy the FEELING of happiness especially on special occasions such as Thanksgiving, in which pretty much everyone is happier.
P.S. I'm thankful I have the privilege of living each an every day that I wake up. May God bless you all and your families.
Love,
Meli <3
The four things I am most grateful for:
1. I am most grateful for the creator of Glee!!!! It brightens my night after being stuck all day doing homework or at practice. I love singing along the songs they play.
2. I'm thankful for whoever came up with cheerleading for I have the most amazing group of friends on my team<3 We all take care of each other and have a blast at overcoming challenges. I love being able to cheer at the football and basketball games. I love performing at pep rallies and at competitions. :)
3. I am grateful for the weather. I love when it is sunny enough to go to the beach or windy enough to do a picnic in the park. I love when the wind blows beautiful aromas
4. I would give the biggest hug of life with whoever concocted the ibuprofen pill. It has worked wonders during TOM and when I have the worst migraines of life.
P.S.- I totally agree 100% with MelissaB1!
Love,
Stephanie<3:)
So obviously Im grateful for my family, health, friends, and the fact that I'm able to wake up every morning. But there are countless little things Im eternaly thankful for.
1)Razors... i never really considered them essential until i was caught in this situation: a hotel room, night out, dress, and no razor. Im so grateful to have my handy dandy blue buddy always ready to keep me nice and hairless lmao.
2)Chocolate: A girls best friend at the time of the month. But in reality chocolate is just amazing all year round. I'm probably going bankrupt buying some everyday but having that little taste of heaven always makes my day. Especially with my stressed out - always on the go life. It's nice to just sit back, relax, and 'chew it on a twix' :D
3)Eyeliner: Maybe it's a little superficial nevertheless i'm thankful for eyeliner. My mom was right when she told me that i'd want to wear it everyday after i started using it middle school. It just gives color to my face and adds some years too. I already look 5 its nice to give the illusion of more.
-Really there's so many thing we should be thankful for. Having a home to go at night, clean water, toys in chirstmas, enough food to keep our bellys full.... I see the opposite everyday doing service, so seriously count your blessings this thanksgiving.
Happy thanksgiving guys :D <333
As we are a nearing a day that we all look forward to enjoying, we can’t forget all the things we are extremely thankful for. My divine family, friends and teachers of course I cherish but, we can’t forget the simple things that make our life just a bit brighter.
I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t be able to live without laughter in my life. The comedians I encounter each and every day make my life complete. Life can be way too serious sometimes, and laughter is vital to survival in this complicated world. “Live like there is no tomorrow; laugh like you can’t laugh no more.”
No matter what the reason is everyone needs a good cry once in a while. I have those stressful days where my neck hurts and I’m sore and I can’t help but to turn to the notebook for relief. Not the composition notebook but the movie, The notebook and cry my eyes out. This might be weird but I feel much better after. Call it happy tears, sad ones, and just plain and simple alligator tears whatever it is we all need it from time to time.
Last but not least my life just wouldn’t be the same without sunshine. It brings me warmth and its radiant rays brighten up my world. I wouldn’t want to leave my house without the sun. I hate those down cloudy days, in which always makes me want to sleep. Don’t get me wrong I love to snooze, but life is way too short to be wasting precise time in bed. Go heat lol, I hate the freezing cold. I don’t mind breezy days once in a while but I love Miami weather.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Believe it or not, many little things can make a difference and make you who you are. People should not always think about the big things but think outside the box and notice everything makes a difference, and how one thing can lead to another. So you can say I am really grateful for everything I have.
No matter what I'm always thankful for the smallest things. For instance,I'm thankful for having my beautiful long nails. My nails come very handy at times. When I'm very itchy and need to scratch myself I can rely on them.I'm not always going to have a back-scratcher with me.Or think about it like this,When I'm in class and really bored I can file them to entertain myself.
You can say I'm also very thankful for having taste buds. I'm a person that loves to eat and not only likes to fill my stomachache but taste and flavor everything. To me the best part of eating is satisfying my hunger and devouring every last piece of it.
Furthermore,I'm also thankful for hot water showering is a very important part of your daily routine. Having a good shower will surely make me feel relaxed and let go of any stress I have on my shoulders. On the other hand, having to shower with cold water will make my shower something I wouldn't want to do. Lets just say it really makes my day. Sometimes I ask myself what I'll do without it. Be thankful and appreciate every little thing you have. Remember that not everyday is promised. So never take what you have for granted because you never know what the future has for you.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, -Stephanie. XOXO
Aside from being thankful for my family, my friends, my health, etc! I am also thankful for things that may seem small but are actually big. Three of those thing are:
1. Nail filers, without them our nails (especially for girls) will look horrible. They can make your nails have a nice form and we mostly all like having our nails long but not too long so a nail filer can help you out with that as well.
2. Stuffed animals, they make us happy when we receive one, especially from someone you like ;) For example, I can't sleep as good without hugging one while I sleep, I'm sure others feel the same even if your sixteen like me.
3. Ice cream scoopers, they make serving yourself ice cream so much easier. I am really inpatient so when I'm craving ice cream and it takes long to serve it, it frustrates me so good thing it was invented LOL.
I thank God for all the little positive things in my life. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone (:
I adore my family; they are the most wonderful things in my life. I don’t believe I could ever live my life without them, material things do not compare. Yet some material things are essential, objects that make carrying out daily activities that much more effortless or just make me feel content.
First: I’m thankful for the saloon that does my hair and beautifies my nails. The experience is wonderful, people are there to do things for you, while you can relax and enjoy your personal time. From the time fingers run through my hair and cleanse my scalp, to the look I see in the mirror all my worries had floated away. Not only is the event fabulous for the experience, but having my hair controlled and non-frizzy is a blessing. In all the years of my life I didn’t think anyone could get a control of my locks till I entered the saloon one fateful day.
Second: I’m thankful for the dryer I have in my laundry room. Now with this invention I don’t have to put out clothes to dry like they had to do all those years ago. It’s a full day of work doing the clipping and the putting/hanging, and don’t get me started if the rain starts pouring down after all the hard work done that day. So, I’m thankful for my dryer, not only is it convenient but the warm sensation you get is just marvelous. It makes you feel all cozy and falling to sleep as easy as one two three…. snoooreee.
Three: I’m thankful for the camera/film. Memories lost in the back of one’s minds, never to be brought up again can be by the use of one’s camera. I know that I am forgetful, and hearing stories from those who have come before me is a joy. Experiences I had, things I enjoyed brought back to life with the click of a button. Film brings preservation of the things we once did, without it I don’t think I could ever have some ideas fall into place if they were simply said to me. So I am thankful for the camera, and all the reminiscences it helps my family and I have together.
Stephanie Reyes Period 1
Hmmm... What am I thankful for? This post really made me think (not that your other posts don't) :).
1) Well, I am thankful for sunlight! :) I mean we aren't called the Sunshine State for nothing. The sun can always brighten up someone's day and it makes a perfect companion when you go to the beach. It's just a good feeling to go outside and see the sun shining.
2) Sadly, but true, I am also thankful for pills like Midol. If you're a girl you would know that cramping is the worst pain you can feel, so having that pill to ease your pain is definitely a good thing. If those pills had not been invented, I really don't know what I would do.
3) Lastly, I am thankful for printers! I don't know about anyone else but printing makes life that much easier. Imagine if we had to write everything out by hand? We would all end up with arthritis by 25.
Everyone should stop to think of all the little things that they have to be thankful for. After a while you should notice that you are living a decent life so don't complain so much and have a great Turkey Day. I know I will. =)
There's many things I am thankful for apart from my family and friends. One important thing am thankful for is bed sheets because am always cold and they keep me warm. I am also thankful for phones because they easily let me communicate with the world. Other wise we would be talking by cans with string. And lastly I am thankful for cars because that is the fastest way to get somewhere and it keeps me from walking because I am very lazy and it would take me years to get to the beach.
:)
There are many things that I am thankful for, obviously my family, friends and health. One thing I am extremely thankful for is my bed. My bed is precious to me, even though I spent very little hours in it I appreciate every moment I’m on it. It relaxes me and makes me forget about everything. Another thing I am thankful for is clothes. People may not think about it but what would we do without clothes? In the winter what would you do without sweaters? Clothes are a very big part of my life and I am thankful we have them. Lastly I am thankful for electricity. Electricity plays a major role in my life. Without it we wouldn’t be able to do anything. No TV, computers, hot water, cars etc. These are the small things I am thankful for that some people may not realize it but even the smallest things helps.
There are many thing's I am grateful for apart from my family, friends and the people in my life. Well, One thing I'm grateful for is Shoes. Without shoes we would either burn our feet and have them dirty or freeze them. Another thing I'm grateful for is hair irons. If it weren't for hair irons my hair would look worst than Mufasa ! LOL . Nevertheless, I am grateful for HOT water. If it weren't for hot water , I wouldn't be able to take showers, because I get really sick if I take a cold shower.
Ah, Thanksgiving. The time to eat turkey until the point of intoxication, but most importantly the time to reflect on all that we take for granted on a daily basis, despite their importance.
Three random things that I'm always going to be grateful for are:
-Toe Socks, because they keep my toes from sticking together or making each other colder when they're like icicles.
-The Sun's rays because if it wasn't for them, whenever I'm freezing in class or in my house, I wouldn't have somewhere to turn to quickly to defrost my hands and toes.
-The hair on my arms that keep me smelling fresh all day. After all, hair is the number one part of your body that retains the smell of your perfume (yeah, I read that in a Seventeen magazine long ago)
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! :D
The first thing I’m grateful for is having a bed. Some people don’t even have beds, some either sleep on the streets or the floor because news flash they can’t afford to buy a mattress. So I’m extremely thankful to have a bed to sleep on and so should many others. Another thing is food, sometimes I complain about the food my mom makes without even coming across the thought that I’m lucky to be even having food on my plate. A lot of children and adults don’t have anything to drink or eat so we should all be thankful for that and pray for those who don’t have what we have. Lastly I’m super proud to say I have clothes to wear, I wouldn’t want to be walking around butt naked saying “Oh hey what’s up? How’s it going?” Would you? Many kids in Africa have to wear the same pair of shorts and underwear for month’s maybe longer and yet they are thankful for what they have even in the worst possible conditions. All it takes is a little love to be thankful. Happy Thanksgiving!
Tonya Valdez from 3rd and 4th period.
Hmmm... 3 things I'm thankful for...
1)I don't know what I'd without pencils, pens or paper. Since I love to draw and design, these 3 little things are very vital in my life. Without them, how would I reflect my ideas? how would I keep records of my arts? I honestly don't know what I would do without these.
2)Whomever tought of musical instruments, the beautiful sound your voice makes when you sing a melody I would love to meet and thank. But that person is long dead, so i won't get that opportunity. Music is such a big part of my life, I can't even begin to explain. I've heard and liked music since I was in my mother's arms for the first time of my life. I'm not exagerating, this is true. I've always sang my lungs out since I spoke my first words as a toddler. I have to listen to at least one song everyday for it to be considered complete.
3)Last of all but not least, (this might sound stupid) but I am very grateful for boys! Yea sure they can get annoying as hell, but what would life be without them? I used to really get mad and frustrated with them, but now all I do is laugh! whenever they tease you or make fun of you and stuff like like that, it's usually their ways of showing their care and adoration.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Chandra p:3&4 ^_^
Well to start off, I'm thankful for soap because without that Everyone would stink all the way to Timbuktu.
Another thing I am thankful for is "pooper scoopers" I am serious because without that we woulkd have to pick up the poop with our HANDS!!
Last is pens and other utensils because without that how would someone in the ancient times before cell phones and other technology know how to build the Statue Of Liberty?!
Honestly, there are many things I am thankful for. There are too many to name them all. The most important thing I am thankful for is my family.
First, I am extremely thankful for technology. If it weren't for technology cell phones wouldn't exist, nor iPods, and computers, etc.
I am also thankful for my bed. There is nothing like sleeping especially on weekends that most of us have the opportunity to sleep the mornings. :D
Lastly, I would have to say I am thankful for cars. If it weren't for cars we would have to walk a lot in order to get where we'd want to go.
*Happy Thanksgiving :)
What to be thankful for?
hmm?
WELL!
There's a lot to be thankful for!
But on my list, I have to be thankful for my teachers still beleiving in me when I start losing hope in my studies. I'm thankful for my parents for being there for me and for supporting me in everything I do. I'm thankful for the gladiator marching band that has taught me new life lessons and taught me to cherish everyone around you. I'm thankful for the internet. Because without it, you can't connect with lost ones that you once knew. And i'm thankful for the world. Because without our little green planet and the people on it, we wouldn't be here today making differences everyday. Making memories and doing different actions that can one day make a difference. (:
Happy thanksgiving !
Hey C-Rod, I hope you’re enjoying your long weekend!
I am definitely thankful for all the wonderful things I have as well as for my family and friends, but the 3 things I know that I wouldn’t be able to live without are:
1) USB drives – I don’t think people realize how important these little things of plastic and metal are. I got my first USB drive a couple of months ago, and I haven’t gone a day without using it so far! After having a terrible experience last year in Dr. Louis’ class during a project (my computer got a virus and ALL my files got erased -_-) I am so grateful that somebody invented a device to save our work!
2) Contact lenses – When you have TERRIBLE vision like me, you know how hard it is to go a day without having 20/20 vision. My contacts are a part of me; I put them on as soon as I wake up in the morning every single day! It’s an awful thing not being able to see, so thank God for our vision and for the invention of spectacles!
3) Bras – Thank you Victoria’s Secret for making them! They may seem like something so insignificant but oh my do they come in handy! What would we women do if we didn’t have that extra support? I’m sure it would be flat out weird if we had to walk around everyday without them (no pun intended!)
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! Love you all, Geo.
There are so many things one person should be grateful in this world. To me the most important is yourself because no one knows you more. No one ever understand how you really feel nor can help you as much as you can. Your motivation depends on you, most of your opinions can't be chanced only if you chance them.
Secondly what would be of us with out toilets? I'm very serious were would we do our business? In front of the store next block... The last thing if your having a bad is to step on your neighbors poop. Even thought its good luck for dog poop I don't think that applies to humans.
Finally I'm not only thankful for having myself every morning plus a toilet next door. Also thank God we have such great teachers like CROD. Someone to tell us "Enough already, you are strong smart children and it breaks my heart that you don't try. so I'm going to make it my goal that you all succeed ". I don't know about you but you don't get this reality check from your parents or anybody else. But then again you do get it from your parents because thats what teachers are.
We love you with all our heart and even thought we might not show it we appreciate every thing you do for us. And we couldn't think we got so much more lucky to have a mom like you. Happy Thanks Giving!!!
Hola Crod,
Well, yes I am thankful for typical things such as family and such but some important things that we don't notice are the following:
1. Deodorant! Rofl, imagine how your day would be having to put up w/ everyones BO! -.- that's just terrible. I never forget my deodorant.
2. Bobby pins. These things save my life! I use like 4 or 5 on my hair daily just to keep my baby hairs up and out of the way. Or those moments you have a hairstyle and something went wrong and bump comes out -_- bobby pins come to the rescue.
3. Alarms. Believe it or not, not everyone has parents waking them up in the morning. My alarm wakes me up everyday at 5:15 if I don't set my alarm, I miss my ride. Since I'm the only one awake in the morning, I rely on my alarm to get me up and out of bed for school.
Have an relaxing long weekend guys, I know I will :D
A *
Since I am up cleaning the remains of last night's soiree', I realized I am grateful for dishwashers! YES, I love them!
Thanks for such great ideas and responses! Toilets, blankeys (I call blankets that), nail files, bobby-pins, Midol (and the like), USB drives (Hey, Geo, heard of DropBox?),pooper scoopers, boys, and clothes, are WAY cool! See how many blessing lie among us but we don't ever notice or give thanks????? Reina - thanks for your response. I am glad you recognize HOW MUCH I LOVE and BELIEVE IN YOU...and your peers!
Well, I love you all and miss you too!
Happy Black Friday! Time for me to do homework! Ugh! I am even thankful for that, though I complain. It's FOOD for my brain!
What am I thankful for?
This as certainly made me think deeper in to things.
Three things I am grateful for are water, music, and the beautiful Moon.
I am thankful for water because water helps me relax. After a long stressing day at school or work, I would seriously recommend a hot or cold shower. It helps relax your muscles and lets you think about things easier. I love thanking showers! (:
I am thankful for music because I simply LOVE music. It makes me happy, and it always lights up the mood anywhere you are. Whenever things are going bad, I listen to music and it helps me cool down and lets me think without killing anybody. Lol xD Music is a wonderful creation!! No wonder it has been around for sooo long.
I am thankful for the moon because it is just beautiful! I love how shinny and big it is. I love it ‘cause it helps keep the ocean tides in place. Which I am sure tons of people are thankful for, because we all like the beach! The moon is just purely awesome and just like music it helps you relax and it is a beautiful object to look at from time to time.
Thank you God for this wonderful thing!! <3
P:S Hoped you all had a wonderful thanksgiving & have an awesome long weekend! (:
I am thankful for the wonderful blessings God gives me everyday, along with those I didn't ask for like my family. (:
Three things which I am grateful for:
1. The Soap Holder. Yes, I said it, the soap holder. This marvelous object located in every shower has its specific dimensions designed which allows me to place my slippery, slimy, soap bar without having to worry about it falling to the ground countless times.
2. Hot showers. I think everyone has taken for granted the power of hot showers at least once in their lifetime. For me, it just so happens that I've taken for granted this thermal energy countless times. For instance, hurricane Wilma, the time when our water heater broke, and the 3 times I've gone to Cuba. That's why today, I am grateful for hot showers. There is nothing more comforting and soothing than getting into a shower and having the "H" setting to feed your every HOT desire.
Now stepping away from the shower... The third thing which I'm grateful for are...
3. Earphones. Oh, how I am grateful for my Philip earphones. This ear device gives me the gateway to another world which could not be described in words, but in the essence of the quality of sound.
I am grateful for:
1. Planes. I would not be able to live without the ability to travel. I cannot imagine myself staying in one place forever! It’s amazing that these pieces of metal carrying tons of cargo and people are able to cross continents and oceans safely and let us explore the world, meet new people, and make long lasting memories.
2. School. We say we hate it at times, but most of us secretly enjoy school. I know I do! People can take away everything I own, but the one thing they can’t take away is my knowledge and school is one of the few places I am guaranteed to learn something.
3. Music. There is nothing like music to bring people together. It can calm you, excite you, or remind you of certain events. It would be terrible to not listen or feel music. For example, I am listening to music as I am typing this.
Of course, I am also grateful for my wonderful family, my crazy friends, and my ridiculously soft bed to where I will soon retire. :D
First I am greatful for toilet paper because with out it people would be walking around with crap on their buts and they would smell bad. We would have to take a shower everytime we used the toilet. That would be alot of showers you would take in a day.
Second I am grateful for money, because without money you woudmt me able to buy anything. We couldn't have a nice phone or be able to go out with your friends on the weekend. We would still be trade crops or thing we have that we can give away.
Third I am grateful for showers because with out showers everyone would be walking around smelling really bad. No one would resist being next to each other. We would all have flys flying around us.
Many individuals are thankful for their family, friends and health, but the three things I am thankful for besides the obvious are laughter, the ocean and cars.
I picked laughter because that is the one thing that never fails to make any moment a memorable one. When I laugh it feels like all my troubles are gone and nothing really matters anymore. It is so weird how one moment you can be completely angry or sad, but when you laugh it is as if all of your problems have vanished for the time being.
Another thing I am thankful for is water and its beneficial properties. Not only is it magnificent to know that water makes up 70% of the earth. But water is extremely beneficial to us humans in many ways. It provides us with great health and hydration. It is the one element that is completely free from any harmful impurities that can damage your body.
The last one would be cars. They help you get places faster then you would on public transportation or on bike and have so many neat gadgets inside of them. Cars nowadays have an installed radio, mp3, air condition, seat warmers, leather interior, built in GPS and electronic seat adjusters. I mean what else can you really ask for? It is like everything you need in a metal box with wheels.
Just a Thought: For those of you who put that they're thankful for nails, There's a commercial that says "That itch you can't scratch", that cream was created for places you ‘can’t’ reach, rendering nails useless. Lol jk. I hope you get the joke >.<
Well, I am thankful for most of my family, my friends and most importantly my teachers, because if it weren't for them I wouldn't be typing this response right now.
To the point:
To begin, I am immensely grateful for TEARS they cleanse your soul and release the purest emotion of sorrow. Letting them out makes one feel released. Crying is caused by pain but it is also what helps mend the pain. It’s a form of releasing how you feel inside and shows your weaknesses. In a way the person who can cry in front of everyone is the person who deserves the most respect and desires the most love. (I sound like an emo kid -.-).
Furthermore, I am grateful for laughter. It shows the beauty in ones soul and brightens ones day. Reason why I am always smiling, I’ve been asked many times why I am always smiling or laughing, and it bothers me so much that they would waste my time to ask such a ludicrous question. It makes me want to ask; ‘Does it bother you to see me content?’
Lastly, I am EXTREMELY grateful for texting and chat. I find it much easier to text someone who I do not know than to call them. It’s less personal and embarrassing. It is also a GREAT way to communicate during class and church service with your friends and your “mom”. The Chat is about the same thing, for example, I have Sprint as my mobile provider, and when I need to change my phone because it’s been damaged or I have questions about a new phone, rather than calling, I go to Sprint Chat and they answer all my questions. There have been times where they’ve waived fees for me, where if I would have been talking on the phone I wouldn’t have had the ‘balls’ to ask for a discount.
I’m thankful for…
1. Calculators- I’m so thankful for who ever had the amazing idea of inventing a calculator. It makes my life so much easier, and math that much more understandable. I can’t image myself actually having to learn my times tables on top of the derivative definition. AHHH! That would make me crazy!!
2. Alphabet- I’m so thankful most languages have an alphabet. It makes life so much easier just having to learn 26 symbols and combine them to make words. Imagine if every word was written completely different, half of us would be illiterate.
3. Sun block- Freaking amazing!!!!!Sun block is the reason why my skin hasn’t fallen off after 16 years of swimming. We would all have skin cancer without it by now, thank you SPF 50 for always protecting me from that sizzling sun.
Besides the obvious (family, friends, food, roof over my head, my health, etc.) I am thankful and grateful for mousse and gel, toothbrushes, and IcyHot patches. If it wasn't for mousse and gel, my hair would be an even bigger poof ball. Thanks to toothbrushes our teeth are healthy and all there, unlike those less unfortunate. The IcyHot patches are such a great relief to back pains, especially when it gets extremely hot. :)
-Scarlett M.
i am grateful for
1. My pets, unfortunately this thanksgiving my cat Oscar passed away after someone beat and poisoned him, but it made me think about how much I love my animals. I spend most of my time home alone so my dogs and my cat are the only things i have for most of the day since my mom works until the nighttime.I cherish every time i was home alone and my cat Oscar would come and nap with me, i sure am going to miss him but I'm extremely thankful for all the times he kept me company.
2.I'm also thankful for chargers! Imagine if every electronic you own didn't have a charger, you'd have to go out and by new batteries all the time!
3.The great invention of a mattress! I would hate to have to sleep on the hard, cold floor every night.I am so thankful to have somewhere soft and comfy to lay down on at night.
1. The first thing I have to say is silverware with out that we would go no where and we would be touching raw meat with our hands.
2. The second thing is chairs with out chairs we would be siting on the floor and that would really suck having no back rest.
3. The third thing would have to be is hair. I could do with out the hair on my legs but I dont know what I would do with out the hair on my head. Personaily I would feel like a boy and what can I say I love my hair.
1. The first thing I have to give thanks to is the soldiers that are out there fighting for us and leaving there families behind.
2. Also, am thankful for sun glasses because if am at the beach taking a tan the sun won't hurt my eyes.
3. Finally, am thankful for party's because if not some of us will be stuck doing the same thing every weekend with our friends for example going to the movies or even just staying home.
I am thankful for my one and only God, my family, friends, and health. Other than that, I am grateful for my toothbrush, phone alarm, and the television sitcom The Office.
1. Toothbrush. I honestly could not imagine going through life without a toothbrush... I truly believe a toothbrush is essential in one’s life. I find hygiene to be extremely important, and without a toothbrush we’d lose the ability to keep our mouth’s clean. With all that we consume, our hygiene would be unbearable; bad breath and tooth stains galore.
2. Phone alarm. I am most thankful for my phone alarm! I don’t know what I’d do without it. My alarm is held responsible for my mom and I waking up every school morning at 6:10 a.m. Without it, I think my mom, sister, and I would be late for school/work on the regular. Hip Hip Hooray! ...for my handy dandy smart phone and alarm.
3. The Office. Duh, The World’s funniest show! This sitcom brings out the best of me, along with countless laughs. The humor in this show gets me every single time. The relationships built in The Office are amazing. Each character has a unique personality. I truly am grateful for the existence of this show! “Bears. Beats. Battlestar Galactica.” ;-)
I am thankful for having everything that god has ever given me, a stable loving family. I am thankful for the ability to speak, within the past week I have been able to face the challenge of not really being able to express myself through my voice. Also, I am thankful for having good health. I have had a few friends my age that didn't have to worry about school, or dance practice, or anything that can really be consider normal. However they are worried if they will survive through the chemotherapy or radiation. Thank god, they have been strong enough to survive through that challenge. But, I am very thankful for my health. Also, for my families health. One small 2 centimeter mass could have changed my perspective in life, but thankfully it was benign. Another thing I am thankful for is the education I am getting, other kids in other countries aren't as privileged as I am, receiving an education. Later on in life they can take away my house, my car, my high tech items, but no one will ever be able to take away my education. Living in the United States it hands you many things that you might take for granted but those are the things one has to be most thankful for.
<3 Monica p.2
I am thankful for God blessing me with a wonderful family. However, I have to thank the things I take for granted. I am grateful for air conditioning because I can’t sleep if I’m not cold. I am also thankful for technology like TV to keep me entertained, IPod for listening to my tunes when I’m bored, and my phone for communication and texting although I could live without it. And lastly I am grateful for having a camera; without it I wouldn’t be able to look back at the memories I once had.
I think that there are many things in my life that I am and should be grateful for. Of course, I am grateful for my family, friends, health, having a home to come to everyday among many other things. However three other things that I am grateful for, that others might not think of so much are air conditioning, chocolate and for the simple mistakes I make in everyday life.
Air conditioning is something that is very important to me; I can’t imagine what it would be like to survive the extreme heat of South Florida without it. Also whenever I go to Dominican Republic during the summer I realize more and more the importance of air conditioning and how much more comfortable my life is because of it; it also one of the things I miss the most from the US whenever I leave on vacation.
Those that know me well and a few of those that might not know me so well know that I love chocolate. I can be described as someone that is addicted to chocolate, which in reality does not bother me because I know that I’m not really addicted. I am grateful for chocolate because whether I am sad or sick a bar of my favorite one can usually help me feel better.
Even though many regret the simple mistakes they make in life, I am actually grateful for them because you can learn a lot from them. In addition, I am the type of person that learns her lesson the first time around and I don’t need to make the same mistake many times to learn from it. Also, I don’t need to make the mistake myself but I can learn from the ones that those around me make without having to go through the trouble.
1. The first thing that I am thankful for would have to be batteries. Just imagine life without batteries.....you cant! mostly all portable electronics run on batteries. That means your iPod's, your cellphones, and even your cars! I think we take batteries for granted, and we shouldn't.
2. For second I choose shoelaces. Shoelaces because with no shoelaces there would be no point to wear a shoe, if you cant even walk. And everyone has to wear shoes! :)
3. Lastly I am thankful for Robert De Niro. This man I believe is the greatest actor of all time, and without him film would never be what it is today. With works such as "The Taxi Driver" and "Raging Bull" this man to me is an icon.
To start off, I am grateful for everything I have. One thing I am grateful for is wood. Wood has been used since the Earth has been discovered, back in the days people used wood for everything from cooking to building things. The second thing I am grateful for is air conditioning, what would I do with cold air? I can’t live with only a fan running through my house; I like it to be freezing cold. Therefore that is one thing I am so grateful for. The last thing I am grateful for is the beach. I love the beach! All the beautiful women looking all cute in their bathing suits. *laugh* :) Yes, I am definitely grateful for the beaches, oh and I can’t forget the Gorgeous women! :)
- I love you Mrs. Rodrigue, I hope you like my work ;p *laughing*
1.Paper Plates - No one wants to go threw hours of washing dishes not only is it boring but your hands get all wrinkled and ugly . Paper plates save you time and they dont break :)
2.Socks-Not only do socks save you from freezing to death in the cold but can u imagine wearing shoes without socks?? Ouchh..The blisters must be dreadful . So thank you socks :)(even though they always go missing in the dryer:p)
3.Monday Night Football- Mondays are the most boring days of the week. the weekend is over and were back to school/work and there's nothing to look forward to. Except monday night football so thank you nfl :)
^ I agree with Freddy! I too enjoy Monday night football and of course Sunday night football, as well. I find Sundays/Mondays to be such a drag. In my opinion the NFL adds a little zest to these "bleh" days! Thank God for Football :-D
Ok ok, I'm done. See you tmrw Crod! :-)
1. I am very grateful for technology we have today. Imagine with no technology like computers, printers, HD television channels; those are just a few things. Even though, imagine if we didn’t have those few things in our life right now. We wouldn’t be able to get on the internet and do research on the computer, we wouldn’t be able to get color picture nor be able to print out our report for school. We also wouldn’t see out television with high definition to see the picture on our TV.
2. Another thing I’m grateful for and that we should all be grateful for is water. Without water we will be all passing out and dehydrating our own bodies, which isn’t good. We need water to hydrate ourselves from the heat after playing outside or coming back from a game/practice. Water is also good for your body since it cleans out your system.
3. The last thing that I’m grateful is for God. We should all be grateful to live, to wake up the next morning and make it through the day, that’s very big. That’s why we should all believe in God and go to church on Sundays to pray and give thanks.
Well Im grateful for a lot of things but I'm super grateful that we were able to go Tampa with the Marching Band and FINALLY relax after all those months of practice, sun block, sweat and yelling. Maybe, we all might've had a nervious break down if we hadnt pulled through at the end. Well...at least I would've. I'm also grateful for my brother's gf coming from Philly and sweetening him up for me and allowing me to attack him with my needs and my wants and taking advantage of him as I pleased! Lastly, I'm super happy that I met Maggie Black and what a wonderful personality she has, which in turn, allowed me to re-think my whole attitude about life and want to change and become a LITTLE BIT nicer :}
Like everyone else I am thankful for my family and friends, but I do agree that there are many miniscule things which we take for granted every day. To begin with, I am extremely thankful for deodorant. Though some people either still haven’t gotten the memo of the wonderful advantages of deodorant, or just simply refuse to use it, I, personally, can never go a day without it. It is just so routine for me to apply deodorant and if I ever forget, I feel a sense of panic throughout the whole day in fear that I might be stinky. Next, I am thankful for garbage men/women. This elite group of individuals is paid a decent amount of money, and for a good reason. Can you imagine a world where no one picked up the crash you leave on the curb? Sure it smells, and sometimes they have to touch things us commoners wouldn’t even want to look at, however, they get the job done. That is why I’m thankful for garbage men and the women too. Ultimately, though this might seem a bit crude, I am grateful for bras. They are a wonderful creation that allows women to feel comfortable secure. Also, they come in many textures, sizes, and designs so that every woman can find the perfect bra for themselves. Even though, many guys hope for the day where every woman in the world will decide to abandon their bras, they really don’t realize the wonders a good bra can do, hence, the “Wonderbra.”
I'm thankful for a lot of things, mostly my parents, my friends, and all the things that I'm blessed with. However I'm also thankful for the small things too!
1) I'm thankful for my iron, hairspray, and my gel. I think without them, my hair would be the biggest hot mess anyone has ever seen.
2) I'm thankful for my pillows and my bed. Without them I wouldn't know what I would do! I thank them for all the amazing sleep I've gotten in the past 16 years.
3) I'm thankful for technology, ALL technology! I'm sorry, but I need my iPod, cell phone, the television and the computer to survive. They're my form of entertainment, plus they're so helpful!
Other than me being grateful for my family, friends, God, I am grateful for small things to.
I am grateful for cups, bottles, and glasses. Imagine life without these how annoying it would be to stick are face under the faucet every time we want something to drink! also how would we be able to stir delicious chocolate milk without a glass, I'm sorry but it just wont work.
I'm thankful for the ground because without that we would never be able to do anything! we would be a bunch of floating people with no purpose other than to sit and chill for eternity.
I'm also thankful lastly for the ocean and what it has to offer, the gift of fishing, scuba diving, the reefs, the fish, and so much more. All of these above gives its total beauty. Nothing compares to sitting out on your boat waiting in patience to catch a mahi-mahi, or floating beneath the surface observing what God and the under water world has to offer.
These are just some of the things I'm grateful, I have a never ending list but thats all I have to offer.
Chris Rodriguez
period 1
Besides the bigger things that are important to many of us like our loved ones, our home, our health, and God, there are many little things that we don't really take the time to appreciate. Therefore, I would like to say that I am thankful for sweaters. I'm the kind of person that is always cold, even in almost 80 degree weather. Without sweaters I'd probably stay under my covers all day because otherwise I'd freeze! Besides sweaters, I'm also thankful for music. Music is a part of my everyday life. Whether I am happy, mad, sad, or feeling full of energy, there is always a song that fits how I feel and gets me going. I realized I'm constantly listening to something different whether it be rock, rap, country, you name it. Life would probably be boring without it. Lastly, I'm thankful for the Florida Keys. I have a place there where I basically spend my summers and without it I'd probably stay at home bored for those 2 months off. I love everything the keys have to offer like wonderful beaches, exciting activities and of course you can't forget about the beautiful sunsets.
I am grateful for many things in this world such as my family, my house and God. But there are little thing in this world that nobody mentions such ass electricity, baseball, and school.
Electricity! Imagine living without it. We would not be able to use any of the modern day technology. That would be horrible, I go insane if I don't use technology for 1 day I would go insane.
Second off I am thankful for Baseball. I have played it scince I was 4 and it has been a huge part of my life. Without it I would not know any of my friends.
Last but not least I am thankful for school. Without it I would have no future, and i would not have the information to succeed in life.
These are three things that i an very thankful for!
Honestly, we only realize how great we have it until we don't, I went camping this Thanksgiving weekend and I realized how much I really appreciate dental floss, toothbrushes and toothpaste. I guess the the sudden appreciation has to do partially with the fact that I just got my braces removed but I really did notice that I'd be very insecure and uncomfortable without those three things :)
I, as well, am grateful for many things in my life but the small things definately do matter. For one, I am thankful for pens. I would hate to have an ink pad on my desk and having to be constantly dipping my feather into it like in the olden days. Im also extremely thankful for Christmas lights. They add to that majical holiday feeling that I love. They make everything look so beutiful during Christmas. Lastly, I am thankful for returns. Since I cannot make a decision to save my life (just ask my box of receipts), its always nice to change your mind and return it.
Happy Belated Thanksgiving
