AP Vocab - A HEAD'S UP!!!!!

We are a little behind on our schedule, so we're going to skip ahead to the Unit 5 words. Here they are:

YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL - Embellish, Florid, Opulent, Ornate, Ostentatious, Poignant

OVERKILL -
Ebullience, Effusive, Egregious, Flagrant, Frenetic, Gratuitous, Sanctimonious, Superfluous

Your assignment is to create a vocab test like the ones I do with some definitions, sentences, synonyms, and antonyms. You can even do a couple graphics. Be sure to make a separate copy of the answers. Save it on your computer because your test just may be the one I give next!!!!

I'm confused. Hyperbole is an exaggeration. The way you are explaining my quote would actually be meiosis, an understatement. If you are saying we are way behind, and I said we are only a little behind, then that would be meiosis.

Truthfully, it's neither. We are only two weeks behind, so it's about right when I use "a little." It's neither hyperbole nor meiosis.

And why are you stressing? Did I make you do the unit that we are skipping? Am I having you crunch both units into one? No, we are merely skipping it...and when we get ahead, maybe then we will go back to it. See, no stress there. We just skipped it. I did that to alleviate stress, not make it worse. Jeez!

In addition, we got behind because of PSAT, FCAT retakes, oh, and homecoming. Remember that? I decided to NOT give you homework that weekend so you could enjoy yourself and not stress. So, basically, it didn't work. Next time I know not to break the schedule to try and help you students. LOL!

Ah, sarcasm! Isn't that a literary tool??? LOL! I kill me!

This isn't due until next week...right ? lol.

Now we're going to have a little taste of what it's like for you when you have to make up these vocab. tests! lol but ^^ on your above comment, thank you for not having us do any homework due to homecoming, i very much appreciated it! LOVE YOU!

Is an idiom considered a literary tool? If it is, I think the title "A Head's Up" is an idiom because its a figure of speech that has a double meaning. The definition of the title really means that your keeping us updated and letting us know about thing that are going to happen in the future weeks to come. :) YAY!! lol

Hi CRod...
Would you like us to make our test cumulative as you do with yours, or just incorporate the Unit 5 words?

Mrs. Rodriguez, the teacher who loves you! said...

Yo, Al~

Nah, just do Unit 5. That's hard enough as it is :o) I will post the words soon. I left them at school. Ugh. CJ just got home, so it will take a few. SMILE :o) Great job today!

Hey Crod,

For the test, do you want us to put examples of literary tools and put examples of the root words and prefixes and you define word each of the word means?
