Did you notice that the title for this post was an example of MEIOSIS??? If you did, yay! Did you read the post below about being tired? Did you notice the lit tools there? I did it on purpose, expecting at least one of you to notice...and you didn't. Authors use lit tools on PURPOSE!!!! Authors are very deliberate. Though I usually include them, I am going to add lit tools in all my posts from now on, and the first person to identify it/them correctly will get bonus points. Leave a comment under the post with the quote, type of lit tool, and why I likely used the lit tool that way, and you will get EXTRA CREDIT! Only provide one lit tool per post, as it would be nice for others to have a chance. Once a lit tool has been identified in a post, you cannot use that one again.
OK, so now for the purpose of my post:
On Monday, we have FCAT Retakes. We will be on a special schedule, I believe...and we will be in the cafeteria. First period - all of you will report to our room first, then we will proceed to the cafeteria. Bring any games you like to play. (NOT TWISTER...LOL!) With that said, there will be NO vocab test, Iola Leroy quiz, or bookmark due that day! Woohoo!
The same goes for second period on Tuesday (though we WILL NOT be in the cafeteria and you will NOT need games). There will be NO vocab test, Iola Leroy Quiz, or bookmark due that day.
Wednesday, 10/20, Period 1; Thursday, 10/21, Period 2: You will have a vocab quiz on Unit 3 words. You will also have a quiz on chapters 26-33 of Iola Leroy. Your last bookmark will be due on that day as well, so I recommend you pace yourself!
Friday, 10/22, Period 2; Monday, 10/25: Vocab Unit 4 will be due.
Periods 3 & 5, I may not get to see you a whole lot on Monday, so bring you To Kill a Mockingbird and read it if you have a few minutes.
OK, love you all! GOOD LUCK TO THOSE OF YOU TAKING THE FCAT NEXT WEEK! I KNOW YOU WILL DO GREAT!

Thanks for all that useful information. You're always on the ball.
In this post I noticed several lit tools, but I decided to use the first one I saw.
"Special Schedule" is an example of alliteration, and you used those words in that form to express the fact that we will have an unusual schedule from our regular school days.
Yay! Great job, Melissa!
Awww! Why can't we play Twister? It was so much fun last year! Lol.
Unrelated Question: Mrs. Rodriguez, by any chance do you know why some of the student portals aren't allowing access to them? Christian's (sellout) wasn't letting him and I just tried to check my grades and its not letting me either :(
Oh! And another question: The unit 4 vocab... Do we write it in our journals, on flashcards, or on a seperate sheet of paper?
Ashley, the portal is working on and off. The same thing happened to me earlier but now I tried again and it works. It's weird 0.o
"I KNOW YOU WILL DO GREAT!" is an example of a hyperbole. You chose to use this exaggeration in order to give hope to the retakers who read the post. lol.
Hey miss, I found one lit tool!
"Woohoo!" is an example of onomatopoeia. You used this literary device to further emphasize the excitement we should all feel for not having to do any tests or turn in the bookmarks :)
Hey CROD! I think "I am going to add lit tools in all my posts from now on" is an example of foreshadowing. You choose to use it to indicate that there will be information that will benefit us and give us extra credit in the FUTURE :)
Hey Crod,
A literay tool that is being used is parallelism is "I believe..." It's an example because you are saying that you believe that your class will be held in the cafeteria.
Erika - Remember, parallelism is the repeated use of a word, structure or phrase in a line (or lines) of poetry or prose. Good try, though :o) Look at the tired toddler post. You may find an example of parallelism there. Hint, hint! (Oh, shoot - "hint, hint" was an example of parallelism!)
Kayla - Nice stretch. I like your creativity.
Steph - Great job with the onomatopoeia!
Gilbert - Uh, no. LOL! How is that exaggeration??? I KNOW my kids will do great! If anything, it's meiosis again because you ALL WILL DO AMAZINGLY FANTABULOUS AND SUPERSTUPENDOUS! LOL! See what I mean, "great" was just a small taste of what my students are capable of doing. I CRACK ME UP! I love making up bogus words.
Not finding any literary tools today, but I'm happy the bookmark is due on Thursday. >:}
Have any of you looked in the post below? The "Exhausted? Worn Out" one?
LOVE U ALL!
